Homeowners!!! It's time to apply for your property tax exemptions for 2019. For those who qualify, this is the perfect opportunity to save hundreds and in some cases thousands of dollars on your property tax bill (savings will be reflected on the second property tax installment). To apply for the 2019 tax year, you must have been in your home as of January 1, 2019. Anyone who purchased a home after this point will have to wait until next year. Also, for those who have had the exemptions in previous years, there's no need to reapply.
Check out the Cook County Assessor website at https://www.cookcountyassessor.com/ to find the application, instructions to apply and more information about each exemption.

Apply now. Don't leave your savings on the table.

Types of Exemptions:

Homeowner Exemption
Senior Exemption
Senior Freeze Exemption
Longtime Homeowner Exemption
Home Improvement Exemption
Returning Veterans Exemption
Veterans with Disabilities Exemption
Persons with Disabilities Exemption
